The Wedding
The closest airports to San Miguel de Allende are Querétaro International Airport (QRO), approximately 1 hour away, and Bajío International Airport (BJX), approximately 1.5 hours away. Mexico City International Airport (MEX) is also an option and is about 3.5–4 hours away by car, depending on traffic.
We recommend arranging a private transfer or shuttle in advance for the easiest arrival. Rental cars are also available, although you won’t necessarily need a car once you’re in San Miguel if you’re staying near Centro.Traveling by bus is also a comfortable option. From Mexico City, direct luxury buses operate to San Miguel de Allende from Terminal del Norte, with some airport connections also available. If you’re flying into Querétaro (QRO), you can travel to the Querétaro bus terminal and connect from there to San Miguel de Allende.
Not necessarily! Much of Centro Histórico is best explored on foot, and taxis and ride services are available for longer distances. Keep in mind that San Miguel is known for its cobblestone streets and hills, so comfortable shoes are highly recommended.Note: We’ll be running shuttles from Centro on the wedding day, with more details to come closer to the weekend. The venue is about 15 minutes from most hotels, so if you’d rather drive or take a rideshare, it’s an easy trip. If you’re planning to explore the area during your stay, a car may come in handy.
March is usually warm and sunny during the day, with much cooler mornings and evenings. Average daytime highs are around 77–81°F / 25–27°C, while nighttime temperatures can drop to around 46–50°F / 8–10°C. Layers are your friend!
We recommend sticking to bottled or filtered water during your stay. Hotels and reputable restaurants generally use purified water and ice, but when in doubt, bottled water is the easiest option.
Absolutely — and that’s part of its charm. Centro is filled with restaurants, galleries, shops and historic sites within walking distance. Just remember: beautiful cobblestones + hills = maybe leave the stilettos at the hotel until wedding day. 😂
Yes. Uber is available in San Miguel de Allende and can be a convenient way to get around town. Availability and wait times can vary depending on the time of day and where you are, so we recommend allowing a little extra time when heading somewhere important. Uber currently lists service in San Miguel de Allende 24/7.For the wedding day, please follow the transportation information provided on this website rather than relying on a last-minute ride.
Sometimes… even when someone tells you it isn’t. Our best advice: if a Mexican says “it’s not spicy,” proceed with caution — it probably still has a little kick. Try a small bite first, then decide how brave you’re feeling.
